This drink has the benefits of alcohol, without the hangover - Yahoo Finance

A state of euphoria — that’s what promised in this drink, the Dream Light from Kin Euphorics.

In the 500 mL glass bottle, which resembles the likes of a Health-Ade Kombucha bottle, it contains adaptogens including reishi mushroom, nootropics including 0.25 mg of melatonin, L-theanine and L-tryptophan, and botanics including passion flower, oak, clove, ginger, cinnamon and chili. The trifecta of the ingredients mixed together creates the mood-enhancing effect.

“Kin was actually designed to deliver a feeling at the bar,” Jen Batchelor, Kin Euphorics co-founder and CEO, told Yahoo Finance’s On the Move. “It's the first non-alcoholic beverage that's actually functional. So you feel something from it. And we designed it for folks that really just wanted an elevated experience at the bar without the consequences.”

Kin’s product falls under the nutritional supplement category and is not regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. But according to Batchelor, every ingredient in Kin has “existed on the market for years,” and the individual ingredients have been tested and “are regarded as safe.”

That said a max dosage of 2 ounces is recommended. Batchelor is hopeful that Kin will continue to gain market share from those who are looking to lower or eliminate their alcohol consumption. According to Kin, the intended effects include an eased mind, grounded body and soothed spirit.

“Twenty-five percent of the people we spoke to don't want to drink alcohol at the end of the night but do want a little bit of help winding down,” Batchelor shares, “We wanted to create something that actually elevated your mood or helped you to relax after a long day.”

As of now, Kin Euphorics’ products are available online in all 50 states for anyone over the age of 18 years old and at select venues including Sel Rrose in New York City and Soho House West Hollywood in Los Angeles.
