KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Kearney Police Department recently took part in the You Drink, You Drive, You Lose law enforcement effort sponsored by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
The enforcement was conducted from December 13 to January 1, 2020.
Five officers participated in 35 additional hours of enforcement, specifically focused on cracking down on alcohol violations such as Minor in Possession, Open Container, Driving under the Influence
of Alcohol or Drugs, and Minor DUI.
During the enforcement period, KPD made five arrests for Driving under the Influence of alcohol, two arrests for Driving under the Influence of Drugs, and issued two citations for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
Officers also issued twelve speeding citations, three negligent driving
citations, and apprehended five fugitives.
